During the “Flèche Wallonne” the field will have to complete a course of 202 km to reach Huy from Charleroi. This classic, contested in the Belgian Ardennes, is characterized by its arrival at the steep “Mur de Huy” (9.3%), which the cyclists will have to overcome twice before they finally cross the finishing line after the third passage.
German Matthias Kessler (3rd in 2004 and 10th last year) will want to prove himself again, just as he did last Sunday during the Amstel Gold Race. For this endeavor he will be able to count on the support of his prestigious team-mates Andreas Klöden (GER) and Alexander Vinokourov (KAZ), not to forget Sergueï Ivanov (RUS), who finished ninth in 2006.
